And just of the coast of Hurghada, the popular holiday resort for UK travellers, are the Giftun Islands.
Made up of two islands, there is Big Giftun which is home to Mahmya and Little Giftun, which are just 20 minutes by boat from the mainland.
Most tourists visit the islands for amazing snorkelling and scuba diving, due to the clear sea making it easy to spot sealife and coral, and on some occasions dolphins.
There is also the pretty Mahmya Beach which has a bar and cafe, with beers from 100 LE (£2.81) and and wine from 115 LE (£2.93).

You can even rent sun loungers and umbrellas while on the private beach, as well as order food such as pizza, pasta and hot dogs.
However, to get to the island you need to book a boat trip, which can be found for as little as £12 with Viator although most resorts will also offer day trips with hotel pick up.
Many of the trips last around seven hours day trip by boat, stopping off at snorkelling areas and coves, with lunch either served on the boat or at the beach clubs.
The Thomas Cook website states: "Once you reach Mahmya, you'd be forgiven for thinking that you've stepped off the boat and straight on to a Caribbean island.

"The glowing white sand and crystal clear waters are like nothing you've ever seen before."
And Lonely Planet recently named one of the nearby beaches one of the most beautiful in the world.
They wrote: "Just a 20-minute boat ride from the Red Sea resort of Hurghada, Mahmya Beach is a vision of blue.
"A palette of turquoise and cerulean so dreamy you might need to pinch yourself.
"The most picturesque beach on the desert island of Giftun Kebir
(Big Giftun), its blonde sands are anchored by the confusingly
named Mahmya Island beach club, which offers superb views from
its shaded sunbeds across a deep channel towards Giftun Sughayer
(Little Giftun)."
One previous guest wrote: "Heaven on earth - when in Hurghada, you can buy a trip by boat offered by many local travel agencies."
Others said it had the "best beach in Egypt" while some compared it to paradise.
Families raved about the islands too, with the shallow waters safe for kids to swim in as well.
Also in Egypt is Utopia Island, which also has been praised for its white sands and clear waters.
Or you can head to the 'Egyptian Maldives' where temperatures hit 28C.
The majority of Brits head to Hurghada, and holidays to the resort town are currently some of the cheapest on the market.

Flights can be found for as little as £56 from the UK, with all-inclusive breaks from £216pp for a seven-night stay.
According to the UK Foreign Office, Sharm el Sheikh, Hurghada and El Gouna are still considered safe for travel, with no advisories in place.
